1M+ user Flutter apps

Seems like flutterhunt may be underreporting, e.g. not detecting flutter in my apps

worth a download, I was surprised how many apps use flutter on my phone.

Whoa, I gotta say, I was also surprised by the results of FlutterShark on my phone. I don’t have many apps installed on my phone, and I thought I knew about the ones that were written in Flutter (or with Flutter add-to-app). But I found 2 apps that were a big surprise, and a few others that were a mild surprise.

My Capillary Schedule 5,000,000

That number is wrong.

Google Play Console:

Apple (apple reports sucks, but you can do the math:)

(active users for today (Google Analytics)):

We have a decent review score

But the app sucks. Very bad decisions while building it (especially regarding state management). And it’s been impossible to update it (Flutter 3.27 onwards sucks, a lot).

Just for curiosity, this is the backend:

Plenty of machine left to grow, for USD 89/month (look, mama, no cloud \O/).

What would you say is the correct number? Keep in mind this is “Downloads” (not active installs or anything like that).

I’d love to read more about the rest of the topics you’re opening. Probably too off topic here but if you create a separate thread here on the forum or write a blogpost, please let me know!

What would you say is the correct number?

I posted the Android all-time report O.o

For Android, it’s 8.46 million.

I got the precise % of Android/IOS ratio from my database, and it is 73.78296% Android, 26.217037% IOS, which matches this apple report (I didn’t realize units meant installations):

What you posted was probably a tool that mines Google Play Store, but Google Play Store only displays tiers of downloads (my app will always show 5M downloads until it reaches the next tier, which is 10M, if I’m not mistaken). And, since I know I have more than 10 million users overall (because I actually have their accounts on my database), I know the report you got doesn’t include ios at all, nor the actual number of android installations (I could have 9.9 million and this report would still show 5 million).

For my shithole, this is not an issue (because IOS here is too expensive because of tariffs (100% in my country), so the IOS user ratio is about 25% of all devices). But, in the USA (lol), IOS is majority, so your report is farther from the truth in those scenarios (which is a good thing, because I guess your whole point was to show off Flutter, right?)

I’d love to read more about the rest of the topics you’re opening.

I didn’t get what you are talking about. What topics?

Thanks for sharing the precise numbers! And sorry — I should have noticed the number at the top of your first screenshot.

From what I can glean, this means that the numbers from FlutterHunt are indeed correct, no? Your app is in the correct bracket (5M+)?

I guess FlutterHunt should make it clearer that the Screenshot 2025-05-14 at 10.45.18 number is the Google Play downloads bracket and not some other number. But that’s what I assumed and looking at your case, it looks like the number isn’t completely bogus?

it looks like the number isn’t completely bogus

Yes and no.

For “this app has, more or less, this number of users”? It is, since it ignores iOS and iOS can be the majority of users in some countries.

For “This app is popular”, it is not bogus.

It’s all relative.
