Anytime Podcast Player

Hi everyone,

I saw this new category appear, so I thought I would take the opportunity to introduce you to my podcast player app: Anytime Podcast Player.

I have been working on Anytime as a side project for a few years. It’s open source and I would hope the code base is a useful example of a fully featured Flutter app that is available on the Google, F-Droid, Amazon & Apple stores. I’m very open to feedback, so if podcasts are you thing, please try it out and leave feedback, raise an issue, or even if you think it’s a terrible app I would love to know.

Hi Ben,
I installed your App on iPhone 15 Pro und followed immediately several Flutter Podcasts. Everything is working fine :+1:

Especially. I like the German translation, that Podcasts also play in the background and really cool is the animated equalizer shown on the dynamic island.

I will also have a look at the source code and think I will find some good inspirations. Especially because you are using the sembast database.

Thank you for trying out Anytime.

Sembast is a great database and I can highly recommend it for a lot of use cases. I’ve found it to be very stable and it’s also easy to use. The only drawback that I am now hitting is that it can only run within the main Isolate, meaning I can’t do updates from a background Isolate.
