Google I/O Connect Berlin

Anyone coming to Google I/O Connect Berlin (June 25, 2025), or any related event in the area? I’m considering coming and I want to make the most out of my time.

I want to meet people, see groundbraking/cool stuff made with Flutter, and chill.

I will be there filip, even longer than the IO program. Looking forward to meet you there!

I just applied for the Google IO Extended in Natal to speak there. Unfortunately it’s on the same weekend as FlutterCon in New York

I should be there as well, but still TBD!

I will be there! And couple of other GDEs as there’s GDE event the next day in Berlin.

@filip Are you coming to Flutter & Friends, here in Stockholm?

Flutter & Friends tends to coincide with a number of important events in my family, so although I really want to come, it’s quite low probability.

Such a shame! I’m sure we’ll find another conference to hang out at.

FWIW, I had to cancel my participation at I/O Connect Berlin this week. I hope y’all have fun there!

In related news, I’m now almost certainly going to Flutter & Friends in Stockholm (contrary to what I said before), so I hope to see at least some of you there instead.

For folks going to I/O Connect Berlin, please let us know how the event was from the perspective of a Flutter developer. Enough community members gathered? Enough Flutter-related content? Access to Flutter maintainers? Package authors? Etc.

Enough community members: definitely! It’s always a blast to meet up with the Flutter community family.
Enough Flutter-related content: definitely not, there was barely anything.
Access to Flutter maintainers: Kate Lovett, James Williams and @rody was there.
There was no booth, not even any Flutter stickers etc. I had more Flutter and Dart swag with me to give to people than Google had at the whole event.

On the GDE summit the day after (which is kind of connected), it seemed like it was very unprepared from Flutter’s side too, it seemed like James Williams had gotten to know that he was going to present only a few days before. He missed the “What’s new in Flutter” keynote talk that he was going to have, so the main stage was just empty for that. And for the talk that he had later there was nothing prepared, so we just got to ask questions to him, which was alright but seemed quite unprofessional.
