It has been a while since I have heard this, and the last few times I’ve heard it were also coming from “inside the house”. At some point I think we should ask ourselves if paying such comments any mind perpetuate the narrative.
That’s a fair question, Mark, and something I debated before writing it.
In an ideal world, ignoring low-quality clickbait would starve it of oxygen. The challenge is that while seasoned Flutter devs know to ignore it, non-technical decision-makers (CTOs, founders, and junior engineers deciding what stack to learn) do read those headlines and get spooked.
When an engineering lead goes to their CTO to propose Flutter, and the CTO says “Wait, I just saw an article saying CTOs are leaving Flutter”, having an authoritative, data-backed rebuttal from an 8-year GDE gives that engineer the exact ammunition they need to defend the decision in the boardroom.
My goal isn’t to perpetuate the noise, but to ensure that when people search for the reality, the ground truth with hard numbers and insider facts is there to greet them! ![]()
