Well, this is weird. I read an article about using the Gemini CLI with Flutter and Dart. I set up Gemini CLI in my terminal in Android Studio and tested the Dart mcp-server. It worked for a week, then I got this message, starting yesterday:
Error authenticating: IneligibleTierError: This client is no longer supported for Gemini Code Assist for individuals. To continue using Gemini, please migrate to the Antigravity suite of products.
As I read this, it looks like Gemini CLI and the Dart MCP server are not to be for Android Studio with Gemini. And you cannot use the MCP server with the Gemini Agent in Android Studio.
So am I just being stubborn by staying with Android Studio and not migrating to a different IDE? I have a lot of existing projects in Android Studio and I have all of the keyboard shortcuts memorized. Is it time to dump all of that?
Or maybe I need to dump Gemini for another AI and lose all of my context across all my projects? Actually, I would not lose that much context because Android Studio dumps all Gemini context every time I upgrade Android Studio. Yikes!
If this is not the right place for this discussion, please suggest a better place.
