I’ve been using Descript for a while to produce my screencasts. They just rolled out a high-quality smart multi-camera interview package (“Rooms”), and I’d like to try that out. I’m thinking perhaps a series of 1-on-1 or small-group conversations about various Dart and Flutter topics. These would be published on a separate playlist on my https://www.youtube.com/@RandalOnDartAndFlutter channel.
Unfortunately, unlike a live chat (say, via StreamYard to youtube), Rooms is entirely self contained, although a limited number of audience members could be invited.
Any interest? Would you like to be one of my first guests?
I’m fairly flexible. I’m looking to chat for 30-90 minutes with people who have interesting things to say or show. I don’t know that I have a unique angle, except nearly 15 years of interviews hosting my long-running FLOSS Weekly podcast. And I want a real project to play with Descript’s new Rooms feature, which uses AI both during the show and in post to manage camera selection.
There’s no equivalent of “a live stream”. You can have up to 10 participants, who can be brought onstage and off, and up to 10 people observing in a chat, but it’s not like Streamyard fed into YouTube where a public chat would be available to all-comers.
Yes, and the video is AI switched similar to how a director would do it… going back and forth for solo shots and occasional reaction shots. It looked pretty amazing. And all videos are separately recorded, ensuring a re-cut is possible in post.
